News Judge found not guilty by reason of insanity

A Cook County judge has been found not guilty by reason of insanity on a misdemeanor battery charge in connection with an altercation with a sheriff's deputy.
Judge Cynthia Brim in March was accused of throwing a set of keys and shoving a sheriff's deputy at a security checkpoint. A day earlier, authorities say Brim was seen acting erratically on the bench in Markham.
A panel of presiding judges removed Brim from the bench because of her actions. Despite the charge, Brim in November won retention to the bench.
Brim had been hospitalized at least five times with psychotic symptoms since 1993, a year before she became a judge.
Forensic Mathew Markos says Brim suffers from a bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder and had been taking medication but stopped.

Second, I personally know Judge Brim for almost 40 years....since 1974. She is a great person, a great judge and not nothing like the media is saying. If anything she is fighting for the culture and trying to help all those younger African American males the system snags with unfair trails, unfair media and that day her reactions ti the officer...she no doubt was at the end of her rope. I support her as others have and I know her...not Bipolar...not even close to being crazy and all whom have stood in her courtroom...luc ky she was the judge.....Atty Montgomery should be commended for his work and Cynitha Brim suppoted in the next election because ....she is turely Black First and everything else behind that fact....God Bless you Cynitha
