(AP) — Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo is accepting applications for scholarships for its two summer camp programs.
The zoo will award 25 need-based scholarships this year.
One summer program teaches children ages four through fourth grade about animal diversity and environmental conservation. This program allows children to see how the zoo cares for its residents.
Children entering fifth through eighth grade this fall can enroll in a two-week program that includes an overnight stay at the zoo. Participants will learn about different careers at the zoo and interact with veterinarians and zookeepers. Participants will also join biologists and animal behavior scientists in field research projects.
Full and partial scholarships will be granted. The deadline to apply is April 26. The form is available on the zoo's website.
