CPS budget may claim sophomore sports

Chicago Public Schools students are making the message clear to school officials that the students, coaches and parents want to have sophomore-level sports reinstated within the school district. To help deal with a hefty system-wide cash crunch, CPS officials earlier this month made the decision to cut sophomore sports. The decision comes to the lament of athletes and coaches who want CPS to find another avenue for dealing with the budget deficit, without affecting sophomore sports.
