In this blog you wrote: "Kanye West performed for Chicago Public Schools to decrease dropout rates with an audience that knew full well he called himself and his album “The College Dropout.” On “School Spirit,” he rhymes “Back to school/And I hate it there/I hate it there/Everything I want I gotta wait a year/Wait a year/This n—ga graduated at the top of the class/I went to Cheesecake/He was a motherf---king waiter there.” Still no big controversy. I enjoyed the song and two of his three albums regardless of relentlessly promoting college."
I don't think it's fair for you to promote your enjoyment of songs that include name calling, especially with words like, well I'm sure you know the ones I'm commenting on, and try to dress me down for my choice of words. It waters down your point, don't you think?
Zoie5522, nowhere in my post did I do any name calling. Those were lyrics to a song. I'm not "promoting" the song moreso than I am pointing out the flaws in it. But yes, I do like the song. However, in the context it was used, it wasn't saying, "Hey, download this song! It's great!" The point was to show how there are lyricists who have made comments against education but were not given the same flack Jeremih was. So no, it didn't water down my point; the examples supported it.
