Bears staggering after loss to Packers

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Kyle Orton was limping, and now, so are the rest of the Chicago Bears. Although they apparently suffered no breaks or tears, a 37-3 loss at Green Bay on Sunday left the Bears with one big bruise to the ego and the NFC North race a muddled mess.

Big hits create bigger confusion these days in NFL

Bears bemoan missed chances in home game

In the aftermath, Rex Grossman had plenty of regrets but no excuses. He missed some opportunities and the Chicago Bears blew a big one in a 21-14 loss to unbeaten Tennessee on Sunday. Instead of stamping themselves as a contender, the Bears are trying to shake off the loss in time for a game at Green Bay that could go a long way toward determining the NFC North champion.

Agents ponder beating possible tax increase

DANA POINT, Calif.-Looking ahead to an Obama administration, some baseball agents already are thinking about trying to beat a possible tax increase for their well-paid clients. President-elect Barack Obama has proposed increasing the top federal income tax rate from 35 percent to 39.6 percent, where it was under the Clinton administration.
