CHICAGO (AP) — Former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel is keeping perspective as he waits for the Illinois Supreme Court to decide whether he can be on the ballot for Chicago mayor.
Emanuel said Wednesday that the waiting wasn't
difficult. He says it pales in comparison to what the group of veterans he met
with on a campaign stop had gone through.
He reiterated all the reasons why he is a Chicago
resident, including that he owns a home here and only left to work for
President Barack Obama.
Emanuel again said Chicagoans should have the right
to choose who will be their next mayor. An appeals court kicked Emanuel off the
ballot, but that's on hold while the Supreme Court considers his case.
