Funeral services set for two Chicago firefighters

Associated Press
CHICAGO (AP) — Funeral services have been set for two Chicago firefighters who died while battling a fire at a vacant building on the city's South Side.

Visitation for Corey Ankum is Wednesday at Apostolic Church of God in Chicago. Funeral services are the following morning at the church.

Visitation for Edward Stringer is Monday at Blake Lamb Funeral Home in Oak Lawn. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rita of Cascia Chapel in Chicago.

The firefighters died Wednesday after a roof collapsed onto them. Dozens of firefighters were searching the burned, vacant building to make sure no vagrants were sheltering inside.

Hundreds of people nationwide continue to post messages of sympathy on Facebook.
Firefighters' union chief Tom Ryan invited the posts, saying they would comfort all Chicago firefighters.
