CHICAGO (AP) — Santa Claus has brought holiday food baskets to Chicago community groups, but he traded in his sleigh for an L train.
The Chicago Transit Authority's Holiday Train
delivered Santa and about 300 baskets to 16 groups across the city.
The food baskets are assembled by CTA employees who
volunteer their time and money.
Each basket contains meal fixings including a
canned ham, vegetables, macaroni and cheese and muffin mix.
The Holiday Train is now in its 19th year. Santa
and his reindeer can be found on a flat car in the middle.
The train is decked out with thousands of
multicolored lights, hand poles wrapped up like candy canes and holiday music.
