CHICAGO (AP) — Congressman Danny Davis has claimed the No. 1 spot on the ballot in Chicago's mayor race.
Davis won a candidate lottery Wednesday so his will
be the first name listed on the Feb. 22 ballot. Former White House chief of
staff Rahm Emanuel will have the No. 3 spot if he survives residency challenges
to his eligibility to run.
In all, 20 mayoral hopefuls filed nominating papers
to be on the ballot. That list is sure to be culled by Election Day because
nearly a dozen of them face petition challenges.
