CHICAGO (AP) — A handful of candidates running to be Chicago's next mayor are meeting in a public forum.
Six of the 20 candidates who filed nominating
petitions were scheduled to participate in Wednesday's forum at the University
of Illinois at Chicago.
The university says the forum will help voters
learn more about some of the people who want to replace the retiring Mayor Richard
Daley.
Other candidates running for mayor who aren't
expected to attend include former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel,
former U.S. Sen., Carol Moseley Braun and former Chicago school board president
Gery Chico.
WBEZ-FM will rebroadcast the forum.
