Quinn confident with slim lead, awaits final tally

Associated Press

CHICAGO (AP) — Like the rest of Illinois voters, Gov. Pat Quinn is waiting for the remaining votes to be tallied.

A campaign spokeswoman says Quinn has no public campaign schedule Wednesday while he watches for final election results.

Quinn says he believes he's won the Illinois governor's race over Republican state Sen. Bill Brady. But the final count has to make it official.

With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Quinn has 46.5 percent of the vote, while Brady has 46.3 percent.

Brady plans to make a statement in Bloomington later Wednesday morning.
