Former Blagojevich aide joins Braun staff

Associated Press
Former U.S. Sen. Carol Moseley Braun has appointed a one-time top aide to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich to her staff as she decides whether she'll run for mayor of Chicago.

Louanner Peters was deputy governor under Blagojevich for about two years, leaving her job after he was impeached in early 2009. Most recently, she was deputy chief of staff to Congressman Bobby Rush, a Chicago Democrat

Braun announced several weeks ago that she's exploring a possible run to succeed Mayor Richard Daley, who announced in September that he won't run for re-election. She hasn't officially declared herself a candidate, and in a news release this week she said that Peters is joining what she called her exploratory staff.
