Obama calls for Illinoisans to head to polls

Associated Press

CHICAGO (AP) — President Barack Obama is urging Illinoisans to get out to vote, saying getting Democrats re-elected is key to the future success of his administration.

During a call-in interview on WGCI Radio in Chicago, Obama on Tuesday said voting is a small commitment of time that will allow voters to shape the future.

The president says Republicans plan to roll back the changes his administration has made on issues such as health care.

Obama says he has no regrets about his health care overhaul and that major initiatives are always greeted with "push-back."

But Obama says he will have regrets if his administration has trouble implementing its programs because they couldn't hold control of Congress.
