CHICAGO (AP) — President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are coming to Chicago to help U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias.
The White House says the president plans to attend a fundraiser on Oct. 7 for Giannoulias. Then on Oct. 13, Michelle Obama will headline another fundraiser, an event that kicks off her midterm political tour.
Giannoulias, the state treasurer, is in a tight race against Illinois Congressman Mark Kirk for the Senate seat that Obama once held.
