Rep. Danny Davis says he may run for Chicago mayor

Associated Press
CHICAGO (AP) — Add Congressman Danny Davis to the list of politicians who are sort of announcing a run for mayor of Chicago.

A day after former U.S. Sen. Carol Moseley Braun said she was circulating petitions for a possible campaign, the Chicago Democrat did the same.

Like Braun and a number of others, Davis didn't come out and say he's running. He's only saying that he's seriously thinking about it.

The field of potential successors to Mayor Richard Daley may be a long one, but only a handful say they're definitely running. City Clerk Miguel del Valle and state Sen. Rickey Hendon say they're in the race.

Daley announced this month that he won't run for a seventh term.
