Warren Ballentine may throw hat in mayoral ring

by Kathy Chaney
Warren Ballentine, attorney and syndicated radio personality, is “strongly” considering a run for Chicago mayor, a spokesperson told the Defender.

Widely known for his radio talk show “The Warren Ballentine Show” and his community advocacy, Ballentine said he’s grown fed up with the ongoing ills plaguing the city.

“After years of seeing the senseless killings, shortage of jobs, poor education and a serious lack of listening to the people of Chicago, I decided that I needed to strongly consider how I can play a larger role in finding solutions for my hometown,” the 37-year-old said in a statement.

Nikki Barjon, spokesperson for Ballentine, said an exploratory committee has been formed.

Ballentine maintains a home in Chicago and Raleigh, NC.
