Official beach season to end in Chicago

Associated Press

CHICAGO (AP) — It's another sign that summer is ending.

Official beach season in Chicago wraps up on Monday. The Chicago Park District says that means all beaches along Chicago's 26 miles of lakefront.

On Monday swimming in Lake Michigan is permitted from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise posted.

The official beach season is expected to start again in May.

Admission on Chicago's beaches is free.

Park officials say beach rules include only swimming when lifeguards are present and no feeding wildlife at designated swim areas.
