Disaster money could help unemployed

CHICAGO (AP) — If torrential summer rains washed out your job or business, you might be eligible for federal disaster relief money.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security says people could be eligible in some counties.

Disaster areas were declared in seven counties because of rain and flooding between July 22 and Aug. 7.

The counties are Cook, DuPage, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago.

Financial assistance can me grants and loans. People can apply at IDES offices.
