CHICAGO (AP) — Authorities in Chicago say three Chicago police officers were hit by a car during a chase that ended with police fatally shooting one suspect and wounding another.
The Cook County medical examiner's office says 32-year-old Garfield Romel-King was shot multiple times and died early Monday.
Police say officers were trying to pull the car over when it struck a police vehicle and the officers opened fire. Romel-King's family, however, contends he didn't deserve to be shot.
Officials say the officers' injuries aren't life-threatening.
Authorities say the wounded suspect is a 19-year-old woman who's in serious-to-critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
