At a crossroad in Ill.

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

We are at the four year crossroad, where we have an opportunity to elect a governor and a United States Senator, able to address these calamities that are upon us.  There are those who want you to think that your only options are either Brady or Quinn;  a Democrat or a Republican “Tweetlee Dee” or “Tweetlee Dum.” But, because of the desire to change in the good people of the State of Illinois, we have two candidates who have emerged from the filings of petitions for statewide office, two candidates born and raised in the State of Illinois, two highly educated candidates, two candidates who have shown an undying commitment to the future of our people, Carl Officer, the former mayor of East St. Louis, is a candidate for the U.S. Senate and William Walls, a former protg of the only reform mayor that Chicago has ever known (Harold Washington), is a candidate for governor. The only independent candidate for statewide office, recognized by the Illinois media is Scott Lee Cohen. Don't be fooled!
Let's make hay while the sun shines. Officer and Walls are not from Hawaii. They breath Illini air. They have Illini spirit. Let's raise up our own national leaders. We have done it in the past and we can do it in 2010. Wake up - you mighty people! The Illinois media will not rally you. The Illinois media is obviously part of the problem. You must send in your financial contributions. You must get your sons, daughters and cousins to register and vote.

We cannot survive the next four years under Republican or Democratic Party leadership.

Bruce Crosby
