Dear Editor,
Elena Kagan has been a trailblazer throughout her career. She’s recognized as one of the brightest legal minds of her generation. She is the first woman to serve as Solicitor General of the United States. If the Senate approves her, she will be the third woman (on the Supreme Court) for the first time.
She’s been a teacher, policymaker, and is now the chief legal advocate for the federal government. As Solicitor General, she is following in the footsteps of her hero...Justice Thurgood Marshall. She has a keen understanding of how people’s lives are shaped by the law and its application. Again, I hope the Senate will confirm her.
