Hearings set on Illinois public health plan

Associated Press
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois public health officials are looking for the public's input on how to improve the public health system in the state.

The Illinois Department of Public Health is holding three hearings across the state. At the hearing the public will be able to offer input on how to improve the State Health Improvement Plan. The plan is a long-term effort at improving the state's public health system and the health of Illinois residents.

The first of the three hearings is Friday in Chicago. The others are Monday in Springfield and May 13 in Carbondale.

The department says it invites not only the public to give testimony, but also health organizations, businesses, community and faith-based organizations and not-for-profit groups.
