Hearings scheduled on obesity prevention

Associated Press
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. –  Illinois health officials will be holding three public hearings on obesity prevention.
The Obesity Prevention Initiative Act of 2009 requires the Illinois Department of Public Health to hold the hearings to gather information on existing plans and opportunities for action.
Community organizations, health departments, health care providers, educators and other interested parties are invited to attend and testify.
The first meeting is planned for Feb. 26 in Chicago. Meetings in Springfield and Carbondale will follow in March.
For more details and to find out how to submit written testimony, visit the public health department's Web site, www.idph.state.il.us. AP
