E. Illinois announces housing cost increases

Associated Press
CHARLESTON, Ill. — Eastern Illinois University students who live on campus will pay up to 6.25 percent more next fall than they now pay.

University trustees on Friday raised the cost of room and board by $224 to $253 a semester. That pushed the cost to anywhere from $3,808 to $4,292, depending on meal plans.

Trustees also approved smaller rate increases at university-run apartments.

The school says about 40 percent of Eastern's students live on the campus in Charleston.
