Review: Clark Sisters get live, loud on holiday CD

by Mesfin Fekadu
The Clark Sisters, "The Clark Sisters' Family Christmas"

It's been more than 30 years since the Clark Sisters released a holiday album. But on "The Clark Sisters' Family Christmas," a live holiday CD, they sound fresh and rejuvenated.

The Grammy-winning gospel quartet's vocals are solid, and production of the album is crisp, making it an ideal gift for any music fan's Christmas stocking.

Sisters Twinkie, Karen, Dorinda and Jacky collaborate with family members on the new disc, including Karen's children Kierra Sheard and J. Drew Sheard II and cousins J. Moss and Bill Moss Jr.

Songs on "Family Christmas" include "Silent Night," ''Do You Hear What I Hear" and "Silver Bells."

CHECK THIS TRACK OUT: The opening song, "Celebration," is the perfect way to start this 11-track holiday adventure.
