A public celebration of life for Michael Scott will be Sunday, Nov. 22 at 4:30 p.m. at the UIC Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Rd.
The 60-year-old president of the Chicago Board of Education was found Monday along the embankment of the Chicago River with a single gunshot wound to the head. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has ruled the death a suicide. The Chicago Police Department said an investigation of his death is ongoing.
His untimely death sent shockwaves throughout the city and many dispute the coroner’s conclusion, including his family.
A private service will be held Saturday.
