A judge in Chicago has delayed the arraignment for four former cemetery workers suspected of digging up corpses and reselling burial plots.
The former workers at Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip had been scheduled to return to court Thursday to be formally charged and enter pleas. They're now scheduled to appear Friday.
The delay came after an attorney for defendant Terrence Nicks asked that a new judge be appointed. That motion was granted, and the other three defendants were given 24 hours to decide if they want a new judge too.
The hearing also was delayed because defendant Carolyn Towns didn't have an attorney. A public defender was appointed to represent her.
The four face several felony charges, including desecration of human remains and theft.
