Joe Jackson wants to increase the peace

A community organization that concentrates on reducing gun and other violence in the city’s neighborhood brought in a famous patriarch to help spread the organization’s message.

Joe Jackson, father of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, was in town Friday talking to community members about the violence that is plaguing Black communities in cities around the country. Jackson teamed up with the community anti-violence group CeaseFire to host the event at the Southeast Community Training Center, 816 E. 79th St.
