Jury selection under way in Ill. slayings trial

Attorneys are scheduled to begin questioning prospective jurors for the trial of a man charged with killing seven workers at a suburban Chicago fast food restaurant in 1993.

Jury selection begins in earnest Monday at Cook County's Criminal Courthouse in Chicago for James Degorski.

Degorski is accused of killing everyone inside the Brown's Chicken and Pasta restaurant in Palatine in January 1993.

Questionnaires have already been given to 150 prospective jurors in the case. Those people will be questioned by attorneys until a full jury is seated.

Prosecutors say Degorski committed the murders with his high school friend, Juan Luna.

A jury convicted Luna in May 2007 and sentenced him to life in prison.

Degorski faces the death penalty if he's convicted.
