SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois has a new Web site to update motorists on statewide road construction sites.
Illinois Department of Transportation Sec. Gary Hannig announced the Web site's launch on Thursday. Hannig says the Web site gives the agency "one more way to offer more accessibility, accountability and transparency." The Web site provides current information on active construction sites, including those funded by federal stimulus dollars.
Users can search for construction information by location, district or contractor. Information about a particular construction site's status and estimated completion dates also is available.
Construction sites also are viewable on maps. The Web site will be updated daily.
