President Barack Obama's health care reform efforts are getting a hometown boost.
Gov. Pat Quinn is scheduled to join members of Congress from Illinois, state lawmakers and community backers at a Tuesday rally in support of Obama's health care plans.
The rally starts at 4:30 p.m. at Federal Plaza in downtown Chicago. Obama had hoped lawmakers would pass a health care plan before their August recess but that didn't happen.
Obama wants a sweeping overhaul of the health care system, covering nearly 50 million uninsured Americans and contain rising costs.
