by Kathy Chaney
Multiple unrelated shootings on the West Side on Sunday evening left nine injured, including a 9-year-old girl and three teens.

At about 7:30 p.m. in the 100 block of South Lotus Avenue, five males were shot during a drive-by. Three were taken to Loretto Hospital, one to Mount Sinai hospital and one to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park. All were listed in fair to critical condition, police said.

Less than an hour later, a 9-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy were injured during a drive-by in the 1000 block of North Leclaire Avenue. Both were shot in the leg.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., a 14-year-old boy played basketball in the 5400 block of West Kinzie Street when shots rang out. The boy was shot in the foot.

A 16-year-old boy walking from a friend’s home was shot in the shoulder after a man in a vehicle opened fire in the 5800 block of West Midway Park Avenue around 10:50 p.m.

Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said no one is in custody for any of the incidents.
