Chicago panel held on role of immigrant women

A panel of experts will discuss the role and contributions of women immigrants in Illinois.

Organizers with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights say topics will include the surge of female immigrants and how immigrant women are taking on more roles.

Many will share their personal stories.

It's called "Stewards of the 21st Century Family" and is being held Thursday morning in downtown Chicago.

The experts include representatives from the Asian American Institute, Arab American Family Services and Women for African Service League.
