JEWEL-OSCO AND CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS FIND RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

(Chicago - July 10, 2009)    James Oliver of Oliver Foods, one of Jewel-Osco’s 30 African-American vendors, answers questions during a Jewel-Osco/ CPS summer culinary camp at Corliss High School. The camps, which also took place recently at Simeon High and Chicago Vocational Career Academy Schools, were designed to educate students about the food industry and how they can become successful entrepreneurs. This fall, culinary students from CPS and Washburne Culinary Institute will come together to prepare tasty dishes for Jewel-Osco’s upcoming 2010 “A Taste of Black History” celebration.
