H.S. basketball coach convicted of sexual abuse

A Cook County judge has found a former boys basketball coach at Walter Payton College Prep High School guilty of sexually abusing two female students.

Before finding 46-year-old George Turner guilty June 30 on charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Circuit Court Judge James Linn noted that Turner was a highly respected coach at the prestigious public school when he seduced one 15-year-old and attempted to seduce another teenage girl. Turner was acquitted on more serious charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
