I’m a 26-year-old female who really needs some of your advice. I recently met a very nice guy about a month ago while out with friends. He is 24 years old, employed and has no children, and seems to be in love with me. Here's my problem: I’ve been a lesbian since I was 14 years old, and I find myself still attracted to women. However, I still desire the company of a man. I’m afraid that my new boyfriend may find out about my past life and not want me anymore. Should I confess? Please help me.

Well my dear, it seems to me that you are confused on so many levels. This is definitely a tricky situation to be in especially if you are still attracted to women. I personally feel that this relationship is way to new for him to be that in love with you. Real love takes time. If you are truly trying to date this person, then you need to be honest by revealing your past relationship to him while starting the process of being honest with yourself. The key to any healthy relationship is honesty and self-acceptance. You need to sit down with this young man and have an open conversation about your and his past and future, then decide whether the two of you will forge ahead in a relationship together. Whatever you do, start being honest with yourself about your sexuality while learning to maintain your integrity throughout the process. Be encouraged.
