The Coalition for United Community Action-ORTC Inc., held its Project Upgrade Construction Management, Estimating and Supervisory Training Program’s Outreach and Graduation and Project Upgrade Alumni Salute to Retired Illinois State Senate President, Emil Jones, Jr., on May 1, at the Condesa Del Mar, 12220 S. Cicero in southwest suburban Alsip.
This event honored 27 future construction industry leaders representing a cross section of journeymen, project managers, small business owners and labor foremen Coalition President Carl W. Latimer proudly proclaiming that all of the graduates had just completed a grueling 26 weeks training cycle that includes valuable hands-on training such as leadership, motivation, oral and written communication, commercial blueprint reading, construction math and estimating, OSHA safety regulations, problem solving and decision making. Among the 300 guests, attending the event were representatives from labor, business, government and the community.
Chicago Defender President Michael House was the special guest speaker.
