LOS ANGELES — Authorities say they have indicted about 150 members of a predominantly Latino gang in the shootings of Black victims and other crimes.
U.S. Attorney's Office spokesman Thom Mrozek says federal and local agencies are conducting a series of arrests Thursday targeting members and associates of the Varrio Hawaiian Gardens street gang.
Mrozek says a federal racketeering indictment to be unsealed later Thursday will detail gun, drug and other charges stemming from the racial attacks.
The gang was first investigated following the murder of a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy in 2005.
