CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The University of Illinois says people feeling under the weather can come to this weekend's graduation, but they should keep their hands to themselves after the outbreak of H1N1 flu.
Dr. Robert Palinkas (puh-LINK'-us) of the university's health center says in an e-mail sent around campus that people who are sick shouldn't shake hands at Sunday's ceremonies.
He also advises that they cover mouths and noses when they sneeze, but refrain from touching them with their hands. About 6,000 students are expected to graduate. Illinois campuses in Chicago and Springfield have taken precautions a step further.
Both have ruled out handshaking at graduation. No cases of the flu strain have been reported at the university's three campuses.
