Dear Chat Daddy, My girl wears her birthday suit...in front of her son!

Dear Chat Daddy,

I really need your help. I am a 37-year-old male who has been dating a 34-year-old woman for the past four months. I am really into her, but there is just one problem: she likes to walk around nude in front of her teenage son and sometimes his friends. Her son talks to me all the time about how they tease him because of this and, of course, he doesn't feel comfortable having them over anymore. The first time I witnessed this, I was in shock and didn't even know what to say. One time she answered the door without any clothes on. Recently I sat her down and told her that I didn't think it was appropriate for her to do that. She in turn told me that this is how she feels comfortable expressing herself, and if I didn't like it, "so what" and that I could leave. Chat Daddy, it's fine when we are alone together, but in front of her son and other people, I don't think so. I've really taken a liking to her and don't know how to solve this issue.

Wow, what an interesting letter. I can definitely tell that this is bothering you. I suggest that you try to have another serious conversation with her. I find it disturbing that she would do this in her son's presence, not to mention his friends'. It is highly inappropriate for her to act this way. It seems as if she has no regard for her child's feelings especially at his age or yours. If after you all sit down together and talk about this and she still feels the need to “express” herself in this manner, you may have to rethink and reevaluate your association with her. I know you like her, but my brother, in relationship matters, the red flags show up very early on, and we all must be wise enough to see them. You may have to move on from this overexposed relationship. Be encouraged.
