The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is assisting Chicago Heights police in their investigation of a shooting attack that killed one man and wounded three other people.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office said Saturday that 24-year-old Tommy Pointer of Chicago Heights died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Also wounded in the shooting were 26-year-old Cardell Alexander of Chicago Heights, 54-year-old Leron Scott of Chicago and 20-year-old Tierra Huff of Chicago Heights.
Police say the injuries occurred early Friday morning when an unknown person fired shots into a crowd on the street.
