Designer Tracy Reese updates her frocks with modern prints

by Samantha Critchell

The highlights of the show, held at the tents at Bryant Park, came at the beginning and end: a sheath with a draped neckline in a light-blue abstract rose print and a shift dress in a pink-and-black rhododendron print. She also mixed florals with paisleys, and paisleys with animal prints for a shot of youthfulness.

Sweaters and jackets, almost all of which she labeled as cardigans regardless of the fabric, also stood out, particularly a long knit coat in oatmeal. Reese didn't mince words in her descriptions of the clothes that she provided to the full house that included her parents.

When she sent out a one-shouldered dress similar to those seen on other runways in the early going of Fashion Week, she didn't use any fancy phases, she simply called it a toga albeit a "stormy blue embellished toga." (AP)
