NORMAL, Ill. - It was payback time as Bolingbrook (25-4) avenged a 2008 Class 4A title game loss to Whitney Young as freshman Morgan Tuck scored 17 points and added eight rebounds in a 53-29 victory.

Bolingbrook jumped ahead mid-way through the first quarter on Tuck’s baseline drive and steadily extended its lead as the game progressed.

Whitney Young (33-2) made just 12-of-45 from the field (26.7 percent) and had 19 turnovers.

Mercedes Griffin and Satavia Taylor each added nine points for the Raiders while Porsha Harris led the Dolphins with nine points.

Chicago Public Schools teams were 0-for-2 in Normal, as defending 3A champion Marshall lost to Peoria Richwoods, denying coaching legend Dorothy Gaters her 9th state championship. Gaters is the winningest coach in Illinois prep history with 907 victories. Marshall (26-7) beat Springfield 56-43 for third in Class 3A as Adrienne Godbold scored 23 points, and Shantiera Miller added 10. Zahna Medley paced Springfield (29-5) with 10 points.

Peoria Richwoods may not have played a perfect game on Saturday, but it sure came close.
