A spokeswoman says U.S. Sen. Roland Burris has visited a veterans medical center north of Chicago.
But he's sticking to his pledge to not speak publicly or answer any more questions about the evolving story of his Senate appointment.
Spokeswoman Audrey Till says Burris was at the North Chicago Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Friday morning. But he eluded waiting news cameras and reporters.
The senator also is scheduled to privately tour the nearby Great Lakes Naval Training Center.
Burris is under investigation and facing increasing pressure to resign after revelations he had more contact with advisers to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich than he disclosed in testimony to lawmakers. He's also admitted attempts to raise money for the governor while expressing interest for the seat.
