Pastors Salute Event

Objective: The Pastors Salute pays tribute to notable pastors in the Chicago area through an event and special commemorative section in the Chicago Defender

Program: The Pastors Salute publicly celebrates the contributions of the recognized pastors in the special edition of the Chicago Defender.  This gala event will be an unprecedented gathering of some of Chicago’s greatest spiritual leaders, along with the movers and shakers within the community.

The Chicago Defender, in association with Real Times Media will play host in honoring 20 of the city’s most esteemed and influential pastors, who have a positive effect on the African-American community.  This will be the 2nd year of an annual program to salute the beloved pastors in the Chicago area.

The Pastors Salute will publicly observe and applaud the contributions of the pastors recognized this year and each year to follow, as well as showcase their good work in the community.


Program elements include:

• Local Celebrity Hosts
• History montage on each honored religious leader
• Special awards presentation
