Women of Excellence Event

Objective: To acknowledge and celebrate African American women who personify the exemplary qualities of respect, responsibility, passion,  sisterhood and leadership

Program: The Chicago Defender-based program is the 3rd annual celebration of Chicago’s African American Women of Excellence. The Chicago Defender will produce a special pull-out section featuring 50 of Chicago’s most influential women. They will each be profiled and corporations and community organizations will have a chance to buy congratulatory ads or sponsorship for the reception to be held to honor these women.         

Requirements and Nomination Form: The nominee must be a woman (21 years or older) who resides in the Chicago metropolitan area or in a 50-mile radius to the city. She must be active in her career or profession, paid for her employment, a positive role model and demonstrates community service. Download the form below to nominate a Woman of Excellence today.
