Impeachment panel seeks info on Blagojevich case

Illinois lawmakers want federal prosecutors to release details of their investigation of Governor Rod Blagojevich, including copies of any conversations caught on tape.

The House impeachment committee on Friday released a letter it sent to U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. The panel asks for information about the case, along with guidance on who they can question without compromising Fitzgerald's investigation.

The letter requests the name of everyone identified only by a code name in last week's criminal complaint. It also seeks the name of anyone granted immunity.

The committee lists dozens of people it would like to question. They include the governor's former chief of staff.

Lawmakers hope to get an answer over the weekend so they can decide how to go forward with their impeachment review. AP
