Just before the 79th Annual Bud Billiken Day Parade stepped off Saturday, this year’s Royal Court made an appearance at the annual dignitary breakfast held in conjunction with the parade.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse, as well as a host of civic, faith and corporate leaders were on hand at Mandrake Park, near 39th and Cottage Grove, for the early morning event. This year’s breakfast was marked by news that a Bud Billiken supporter and family man, comedian Bernie Mac, had died.
