Ill. officials explain minority contracting

Associated Press

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — The Illinois Department of Transportation is planning three meetings to get public comment on a new minority contracting program and explain other state-project opportunities.

The gatherings will be Wednesday at the Woodson Regional Library in Chicago, Thursday at the Gateway Building in Peoria and Friday at the East St. Louis Public Library.

IDOT officials want to hear from the public in the new Target Market Program. It identifies state-funded projects for bidding by minority and women-owned companies.
