ATLANTA (AP) — Bishop Eddie Long says he's moving
ahead with his ministry at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and won't
discuss allegations of sexual misconduct made by four young men who were
members of his congregation.
In a statement Thursday on the church's website,
Long says he will "continue to honor and abide by my commitment of
confidentiality" in the civil lawsuit, which was settled in May for an
undisclosed amount. He added he "will not be diverted from the important
work of the ministry."
Long's comments came a day after two of the
accusers spoke with reporters for the first time since the lawsuit was settled.
The two men, Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande,
said they continue to struggle with what happened and are planning to write a
book.
